Educating the Educator
Krishnamurti suggested that, "Education can be transformed only by educating the educator, and not merely creating a new pattern, a new system of action." Around this challenge for transformation, the programs provide a variety of settings and opportunities to grapple with concrete educational issues and questions.
Starting with the questions that we grapple with in our daily lives, the programme builds on the insights that the apprentices come to from their own deep looking and shared inquiry. We shift from seeking answers to finding key questions that transform the way we see (and respond to) our educational challenges. We will attend to school and classroom activities - and question what we see. We will start from scratch to design teaching and learning environments using dialogues, classroom observation and viewing film clips, role-play, interrogating our own educational narratives, readings, videos, journal writing, nature walks, silence and study time, and designing mini lessons.
