The problem of bullying has occurred a good deal less at Brockwood Park than at many schools. Because of the ethos of the school and the great emphasis which is placed on relationships. However, there have been occurrences of bullying here in the past and there is no reason to be complacent about this issue.

Bullying is any behaviour which causes pain and distress to another and can include name calling, being unfriendly, taunts, gestures, excluding or ignoring, teasing, sarcasm, spreading rumours, abusive comments, physical acts such as pushing, kicking, hitting etc.

The school is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our school. If it does occur, all pupils should know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. There should be a climate where pupils intervene themselves and TELL staff.
