At Brockwood, we are committed to protecting your privacy.

This policy covers Brockwood's use of personal information collected when you use or visit our website. The policy also gives you information about cookies and how you may disable such cookies.

Information We Collect

When you visit Brockwood's website we do not collect any personal information. Apart from certain pages which contain online forms. Forms that you may fill to register for a visit to the School, or for requesting further information.

How we use this information

The collected information is stored in databases and intended solely for the use of administrative departments within Brockwood.
This information will be used to communicate with you, to provide you with important updates, or used internally to improve our services or guide our marketing efforts. Such analyses are statistical, and no personally identifiable information will be shared with third parties.

We will not give information about you to anyone outside the School without your consent unless the law allows us to.

Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information that websites send to your computer and store on your hard drive. They are not software they cant be programmed or carry computer viruses. Cookies allow us to recognise your computer when you next visit our website, but they dont tell us who you are.

We use two types of cookies on our website: per session cookies, which are temporary cookies that remain in the cookies file of your browser until you leave the site; and persistent cookies, which remain in the cookies file of your browser for longer (although how long will depend on the lifetime of the specific cookie) . These cookies are used to store state information between visits to a site.

If you use our website, we will assume you consent to us storing and retrieving cookies, unless you have set your internet browser to stop cookies from being saved on your computer.

The European Union Cookie Directive, which came into effect under UK law on the 26 May 2011, states that websites need informed consent from their users before they can store or retrieve cookies on your computer. Currently, we use a temporary session cookie valid only for the session in the Alumni Directory section and for the form pages, like the guestbook page, the contact us page, etc. This session cookie only stores the id of the session.
We also use third party cookies from Google Translate and Google Analytics.
Google Translate is used to provide an automatic translation of the website in languages other than English. The cookie of Google Translate which is activated then, is valid for the session and only contains the language names to translate from and to.
We use Google Analytics which collects anonymous information, to understand how people use our website so we can make it more effective. Security

Brockwood takes security seriously and employs measures to protect your information. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job have access to personally identifiable information. The servers that store personally identifiable information are controlled by password with limited access and located in a secure environment.

While we strive to keep the information that you supply secure, please be aware that the Internet is not a fully secure medium. For collecting sensitive information, we use secure servers and secure transfer protocols (SSL).
