After we have received your application
form, we then look to see if we can offer you a prospective
week at Brockwood. This week is an important time as
it enables you to get first hand experience of what
the School is like and to decide whether or not this
is really the right place for you. The week also allows
us at Brockwood to get to know you, in order to see
whether we feel we can offer you a place in the School.
Normally a prospective week is
done while the School is in progress, and a daily programme
is arranged for you which includes a variety of classes
and outdoor activities. For students applying after
May, it will be necessary to attend the prospective
week in early September.
|
| Dates for the Prospective week |
|
Your prospective week is normally
arranged in October-November, or the middle of February
to the middle of June (excluding the Easter half-term
break). We require prospective students to arrive at
Brockwood by 7pm on Wednesday evening, in time for the
beginning of the School week (Tuesday and Wednesday
are our weekend) and to leave on the following Tuesday
morning. The exact dates for the week are confirmed
once you have told us your preference.
|
| The Decision |
At the end of the week the school
director meets with you to discuss how the week has
gone and to see if you still wish to attend the School.
You then return home and shortly afterwards staff and
students meet to discuss your application. The directors
then make a decision based on all the information they
have and you are informed by letter of the outcome.
If you have been offered a place
at Brockwood, we then ask that you let us know as soon
as possible whether or not you wish to accept the offer.
If you accept, a deposit is due to secure
your place in the School.

This
week is intended to give the applicant a better idea of what
Brockwood is like and provides them with the experience they
require to make a decision about whether or not the School
is right for them.
